Brad Hompe, Corrections Officer, is Now an Expert in the Field

As he worked his way up the career ladder in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), Brad Hompe stood on virtually every rung at one time or another. Like most, Brad actually started his career as a corrections officer, before being promoted to Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, unit manager and deputy warden, all before he became a warden. Throughout his career, he has taken the lead on the development and implementation of corrections programs, but Brad Hompe also has provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin, as well as nationally. These days, you can find Brad Hompe working as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator with WI-DOC.

One thing that makes Brad Hompe qualified as a corrections expert is his high level of experience in virtually every aspect of jail and prison operations. That is based on his efforts as he worked his way through the WI-DOC system. It’s no exaggeration to say that Brad Hompe has performed virtually every task there is to perform at one time or another during his time with WI-DOC. In addition to working his way up the career ladder, Brad has also served as a jail inspector, an instructor and trainer at various points.

Over the years, Brad Hompe has come to be seen as an expert in all areas of prison operations. At various times, he has taken an active role in jail and prison planning and design, as well as with the development and the implementation of prison policy in areas as important as the proper use of force, incident management, classification and supervision. He even knows how to deal with issues such as food service, sanitation and maintenance and fire prevention.
